I let my gerbil on my windowsil in it's ball after it escaped the, because it isn't very tame and I cant pick it up. I put some boxes and things to stop it falling and was watching it. But I turned away to put some bedding in it's cage and heard a bang. The gerbil ball fell off the windowsill and hte gerbils legs wee sort of spazzing like kicking as if it was really scared, but I dont think it could stop them. I put it in it's cage in a comfy spot (I'd just cleaned out and put new bedding in) and now it's breathing really heavily lying down and letting me stroke it, which it doesn't really do, Please help, she's quite young and unfortunately on her own as her mum has died, I want to know what would be best for her. Thanks

I don't know if shes dying, but she may have broken her legs. You could try and figure out a way to support them, or, if you can afford it, take her to a vet that works on gerbils. If and when she gets better, spend more time with her so that she will trust you more and let you pick her up/hold her. Hope this helps
Thanks :)
