Is my computer with the High Definition Audio Device that comes with my computer?

Installing the driver even if its not the correct one will not make your computer stop working, it just will not fix the problem with your sound. If you are using a newer video card & use things like HDMI between your computers video card & the monitor, then you will need to install the full driver set offered for your video card which you can find from the cards website. For example if you have an XFX Radeon R7 260X as I do, then you will need to go to the XFX site & download all their drivers for both your video & sound. You also need to make sure that all your drivers are up to date with other things like your motherboard or if you have an already built computer that someone did not custom build for you, then go to the computer companies site & download all the drivers there. In any case your always going to need to keep your computer up to date with drivers, software & games for best performance.

I would suggest that you Google "Drivers Update Software" to find a software that can do all this for you. Another site you can check is some place like cnet also known as download.com to search for driver installing programs. There may be some that are free, but the paid ones are most times your best bet as they will most times install everything for you with little to no need for you to do anything but wait for everything to finish.

Also you need to provide more information about your computer in order for me to better help you, or someone else. Like the model of your computer, what company you bought it from, the sound card name or what model your motherboard is. The more information you can provide, the easier it is for someone like myself to help you. I build my own computer/s, so I know what is in mine. Not everyone does this, and not everyone knows what their hardware is. So best option here is to search for programs to install your driver updates for you.
