My baby girl is 2 months & 5 days old. I weigh her by stepping on a scale first then with her. It is showing she is weighing 8 lbs 4 oz.
I am a first time mom, and do not want to supplement like the doctor has recommended. (I just don't feel as if my doctor is experienced with a breastfed baby's as there are so many formula fed babies anymore)
She is well aware of everything, pees more then 5 times a day, her poop is to the point where it comes one day gone for 10 then back then gone for 2. (My research shows that's normal with poop)
She latches perfectly fine, I can hear her swallow, but she stops so soon, is she getting what she wants or is it me?
Is my breastfed baby not getting enough?

What weight was she born at? Babies lose about 10% of their birthweight at first and then slowly gain it back. A 3 month old girl should be around 10-16lbs on average, so your daughter is probably slightly under. But have you weight her properly on baby scales? It's not that accurate to weigh yourself and then weigh you and baby together. But please speak to your doctor about her progress, to be sure that all is normal. You'd rather be safe than sorry :-)
Just allow her to nurse as long as she want, during a feeding and as often as she wants. Once she reaches 5-6 months of age....then begin giving her baby foods, juices, water and continue nursing her until she reaches 1-year of age. Once she's 1-year of age.....she can drink ALL liquids from normal cups and glasses.
Most doctors have NO idea what they are talking about...when it comes to do with breast feeding. Just continue to allow her to nurse as long and as often as she wants. She may be teething early........ If so, buy some teething rings, freeze them and then give her one to chew on and buy some Baby Orajel to rub on her gums for pain.
See that's the thing she doesn't seem to be putting on weight! Perfectly fine though, just not gaining! She's 8.8 at almost 3 months.
