There's two types of love. There's romantic and rational love. Rational love is based upon intellect reason or spirituality rather than natural love according to Anthony Levi a french moralists: the theory of the passions.

Love is when you are aware of a need and you take care of it. Most people don't know that, but they are happy to make up something when asked. So any time the subject of love comes up you have to determine whether the speaker knows something or is making it up.

You do not need any reason to love someone but you do need to think before giving up on someone. love is something selfless but if you do want something from it that's not "love" like the legit love. But no one can explain what you feel more than you do. It depends on your perspective.

It should be. But most people use it as an excuse for some irrational behavior. Love is a choice and choosing needs a lot of rational thinking
