I have a acoustic guitar and I want to know if learning electric guitar a way different process?

I have both. In the process of learning I started with acoustic and then electric a year later. I would say learning electric is easier because of the thinner strings (and neck) so you don't need to pluck or hold the strings as hard as an acoustic because of that and amplified sound. Other than that it's basically the same. Go for it! :)
Every guitar is a special purpose instrument. An electric guitar is a synthesizer using strings as the frequency standard. The strings are much harder to hold down and finger picking is out of the question. You have to learn about the electronic parts and you eventually end up with a totally unique instrument.
