Is it weird to give a guy balloons for his birthday, along with his present?

I don't think it's wierd, but it is a bit feminine for us guys. I actually had a girlfriend get me flowers for my birthday. I didn't say anything but it was pretty embarrassing to get flowers in front of your macho buddies.I basically laughed it off and if anyone said anything about them, I would say I got them for her.
