I am planning my wedding and reception. I expect approximately 15 attendees. My reception will be held at a restaurant and my fiance and I will foot the bill for full meals for every guest as etiquette dictates; however, we are non-drinkers and would prefer not to provide for alcoholic beverage options. Is this okay etiquette-wise, and, if so, how do I word my invitations to let my guests know?
As alcoholism is a problem in both my and my fiance's family, we do not wish to condone its use. Furthermore, we do not wish to pay for excessive drinking during our celebration, but we do wish for everyone to enjoy themselves. If I cannot choose not to provide for alcoholic beverages, then can I limit the number that each person may order?
I guess I just want to know what is the proper way to handle this situation, and how do I word the reception cards in my invitations in a tactful and proper way?
