Last night, I was drifting of to sleep and as I started to actually want to sleep, my body felt different; paralyzed. My tongue even felt numb. It felt like hours were going by and I was having a dream while I was still awake. I suddenly felt like I was being lifted up by something or someone. I was able to take control and move after "hours" of trying although it had only been less than 20 minutes. What did I experience? I know what sleep paralysis is because I've experienced it, but never have I gone through it while I was still awake.

Note that I am NOT an expert or have a profession that I could explain this from, but that sort of thing happens when you are lacking sleep, physically your body may not be tired, but your brain wants to shut down and it will if it want to. Lack off nutrition could also have an effect. You should at LEAST get 7 or 8 hours of sleep. Mainly it's 8 hours, but 7 is fine. Try taking a glass of water to bed and maybe a small snack. Read to relax or just lay there thinking of what you have to do tomorrow. I shouldn't happen as often.
