Is it possible that x rays can ruin a video game?

Not a chance, I've been through customs with PC and console games more times than I can count and never had a problem. The data on disc is not affected by radiation. If the game was stored magnetically then you may (and that is a very very big may) have an issue but considering the millions of laptops and pads and phones that get scanned everyday without an issue.. well, you get the point. If the game won't play it's because you bought a f*cked disc/cartridge.
