Hello my partner recently gave birth to my beautiful baby boy teddy, we discovered 8 hours later that he was born with deformed retinas ( one partially attached the other detached with blood flow ) I would not change him for the world but wonder if that, in the future could something be done to gain some amount of sight, we have been told due to the brain never using the eyes this may never be possible ?

Yes, with the proper surgery eye repair is possible, and soon eye replacements will become common place, they've already been grown. However, when people are born and gain eyesight, they often need therapy to be able to understand what they're seeing, which can take time and money. Not that they're anything wrong with being blind though. It has it's disadvantages but there are a lot of benefits too (at least in today's world). So yes, it's possible, but with any solution it will have to wait until he's much older and will not be instantaneous.
No problem, congrats on the kid!
