I am 25 years old with a 7 year old and a 22 month old. I have been on Depo since March of 2009. About a month ago my husband and I had sex then my period came. I thought it had gone away so we had sex again just for the next morning to find it was still on. This lasted about 3 weeks. We returned to our regular sexual activity. Now it's like a month in a half later...I am 11 days late missing my depo shot but I am concerned now because I am feeling all the symptoms I was when I was pregnant before. I don't want to panic because I know pregnancy symptoms and pms symptoms can mirror eachother. So my question is how likely is it to get pregnant on the shot? It's happened once before with me...I just can't imagine it could happen twice! HELP!

the only sure way to not get pregnant is to refrain from sex all together, but we are people and we do have needs. it is always possible that no matter what precaustions you use to not get pregnant, you can end up pregnant. if you know your body, and the symptoms of your earlier pregnancy, then you should see your doctor and have them test you, as at home tests are not always accurate. but i have heard that the depo shot can cause you to miss your monthly and increase your appetite, and give you false pregnancy symptoms. a visit to your doctors office would be the beat thing to concider.
