The animatronic I'm referring to is the "Baby" from Sister Location. I did a cosplay of Springtrap last year, and that got many nice comments at conventions. I'm afraid I'll be mocked if I carry through with this one however, since it is very noticeably a girl. But it IS an animatronic, so is this alright?

I personally believe that a person should do whatever they are comfortable with. Many people cosplay as the opposite gender and whilst there are a select few that would mock you this certainly isn't out of the ordinary at cosplay events or conventions. Although if you are afraid that people would make fun of you then you could always create a mask of sorts to conceal your identity if you weren't doing that in the first place.
Tldr; do what makes you feel comfortable. If you don't feel comfortable doing this then don't do it
