Is it normal for 8 year olds to talk about wieners?

I know my nephew gets a kick out of it for some reason and hes 8. My brother was the same way. Im not sure if girls are different about it or not. But kids pick up words like a sponge. Someone should just tell her that she shouldnt talk about that or not use that word. But it doesn't sound serious.
