Is it legal to force your atheist son into a catholic school if he refuses?

normally when we go to a catholic school its because we believe in what the school does for catholic reasoning because its better for a child that has this as a religion.A form of belief you probably could put him there but he might be defiant and cause issues for the school and not do anything they ask of him. There for i wouldn't make him go it could even become very embarresting to the parents.
