I applied eucalyptus oil to my nose and now read that it is highly toxic/poisonous I am wondering if my dose was poisonous. I only put my finger in the oil then put it on my nose.

You should research any medicine before using it. I once grabbed a tube of medicated ointment that my mother had, and immediately noticed a loss of balance. It turns out that is a known side effect of that brand but they continued to sell it anyway. So now I have impaired balance for the rest of my life.
A google search turns up this advice:

"Is Eucalyptus Oil Safe?
Essential oils like eucalyptus oil are generally safe to use, but with specific precautions.14 Adults should not take it orally (by mouth) except under a doctor's supervision. I do not advise giving it to a child, including cough drops with eucalyptus if the child is under age 6.
Eucalyptus oil is generally safe when applied to adult skin, but don't put the oil, salve, or chest rub on the face or nose of a child under age 2. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should also avoid using the oil."
