People who are privileged get diagnosed more than underprivileged people for obvious reasons. But why are people who are underprivileged able to get through depression without using it as an excuse for hardships unlike a privileged person who, depending on the degree of depression, "allows" it to consume them where underprivileged people are forced to focus on more immediate problems?
I am not in any way undermining the severity of depression, I have just come to notice that people who have struggled pre-depression are more likely to keep going and do what they have to do whereas people who have not previously struggled but do now with depression seem to be more consumed by it.
I'm thinking of using this for an oral topic so please, I'd encourage a whole variety of different answers whether you agree or not. Please give me an honest opinion and try to make it as detailed as possible.
Thanks guys!
