Is cultivated land man made or a natural feature?

"Cultivate" comes from an old world for a wheel or a plow. Related words are cult, culture, colon, and colony. Land that has not been touched by wheel or plow is called virgin.

But just because some man cultivates land, that does not mean it is man made. Parts of The Netherlands are in fact man made, built up to make land where sea existed before. In Greenland, when a volcano erupts they spray sea water on it to harden it where they want more land, so I guess you could say that is man made land. If lava fields can be called land.
