Beauly is officially situated in Inverness-shire, but is on the black isle side of the river Beauly. If Conon Bridge is the first village on the black isle on its north western boundary, then surely Beauly is the first village on it on the south western boundary, the boundaries being the River Conon (north-west) and River Beauly (south-west). According to Wikipedia the boundary is variously considered to be either the River Beauly (including Beauly on the Black Isle) or the boundary of Ross & Cromarty 1 mile north of the village. I'm just interested on peoples thoughts?
