I am trying to figure out a formula in excel, and/or best way to set up and structure a financial forecasting and amortization by date (IE, month, year), similar to how a bank would do it if you had a mortgage with them.

For example, I would give someone (or multiple people) X amount of dollars with a specific interest rate that is to be repaid over a period of time, and I would like to see how much money I have lended, how much interest I am collecting each month and in the future, the profit made, and also my cost of doing business (IE, If I leverage a banks money to provide the loans, and have interest on that money to be paid back).

If anyone can provide an example document or formula, it would be great appreciated! Thanks in advance.
