I currently live with 10 people, which share 1 internet connection which can be really frustrating at how bad the speed is when loading or downloading anything. I was wondering what the best solution would be such as getting another router, upgrading internet, etc. Currently my uncle has bought an gigabit Ethernet switch that has yet to be installed as well as plans of moving our modem to the living room to reach my area because it's currently very far away from my devices would this be an efficient solution? I also enjoy playing PC games and it really effects my FPS where I often get lag spikes and download speeds drop to almost devastatingly 24 Mkpbs. Thank you!

I have 1 MBPS service and I routinely download ten or more movies at a time with little interference. Your problem is more likely to be a DNS overload. I don't get that because I run my own DNS. Go to www.analogx.com/contents/download/Network.htm and download Quick Cache.
