I have a hernia and it is not painful. It has been popping out when I stand so I have been massaging it back in but it always comes out shortly after. I am passing gas and pooping. It has started to get small red specks. I'm not sure if this is from rubbing the area a lot and it is getting irratated. I have a doctors apt on Thursday.

I am told that a hernia is a symptom of B vitamin deficiency. It's cheap and easy to test that: get nutritional yeast powder and/or B-100 pills. Vitamin B2 is a water soluble dye that turns urine bright yellow. When the color fades, it's time for another dose. Read some books about nutrition so you know how to eat right.
There are 13 to 17 B vitamins, depending on who does the counting, and some of them can substitute for each other, so it is quite difficult to compile any clear information on what symptoms go with what deficiencies. Doctors have no training in nutrition, so they won't give any such advice. You just have to learn it yourself.
