Honesty - easier to live the truth than balance a life of lies
Ambition - so you can keep going after that which you desire
Respect - so others will be willing, even wanting to help you, or at least not hinder you
Loyalty - so you don't have to watch behind you, only ahead to the future
Daring - there are times when you must risk something to gain something
Wisdom - so you can use all the previous traits well
