Adding some info: In 5th & 6th grade my teachers almost never gave homework. I could hardly stay above a B-.This year my teacher gives homework every day but Fridays. I'm doing pretty good now. Other factors: 5th & 6th was indian (I can't help being kinda racist, it's in by blood.) this year my teacher is not indian. this year i am in average math and 5th & 6th i was advanced (that didn't work well). I just want to know the public's opinion.
In your opinion is homework a good or bad thing?

hey everyone i got bumped up to accelerated math! YAY ME! But, i'm kinda doing really badly. :P conclusion, im just not a very smart person when it comes to math.

Homework is a good tool for measuring how well people are picking up a subject. In general the teacher is suppose to teach the concept, then when the student is at home, they apply the concept to the work, proving that they learned the concept. If a good percentage of students did not do well on a homework assignment, the teacher can reattack the concept.
Also, homework is useful for giving people who test poorly a way to keep grades up. Its a good balance to those whom test well but cannot time manage well.
in my opinion there are two objectives why there are such thing as homework the first one is to have an advance study about the future lesson and next is to check if they can do it on their own without the help of others giving the impression that the lesson is understand very well by the student
