I live in Maine, so the laws might be different, but in our state we have to submit the landlord a written complaint after a verbal before we take him to court. In your lease, does it say that you can terminate the lease with a 2 week notice as long as you pay that rent for that month? Look up the tenant laws in your state. If that doesnt help, just leave the lease, u have a baby to be concerned about, any judge would consider that grounds for termination.
