In the flash season 3, if Barry is savitar, why would he kill iris and hurt himself and the team?

Savitar is a time remnant that Barry creates. Iris' death makes him mad and he creates time remnants in the future to kill Savitar. Savitar is one of those time remnants which he needs to be kept alive so he can be created. It's a closed loop.
