They have even started a bag making enterprise - to make Kalamkari bags. These bags are made with natural fabric and colored with natural dyes and Sumati feels that they are very trendy. However, Sumati finds that at present there are no clients nor is there any demand for these bags in the nearby rural villages, nor do the group members know how to build the business. As per local customs, a woman travelling outside the village is strongly discouraged. What do you think can be a marketing strategy for such products? How can you help these women to tap into such markets?
