I'm looking between a 10 inch trunk sub and 8 inch cab. In general, could the 8in perform as well?

Specifically the JBL Basspro Sl and Jbl Basspro Sq. The Sq is a 10inch trunk box, and the sl is 8 and slips below a seat. I want the best quality and heard that bass can lose richness/depth by being in a trunk, but of course there's a difference between sizes. So what do you all think my best option is here?

I prefer a 12 inch sub and a 12 foot cab.
It sounds like you need a 12 inch lunchbox, and enough fare for a bigger cab.
