Hello Everyone,
I'm looking at moving to Oregon from Oklahoma. My first concern is of course being able to find a decent job. I have a B.A. in English and currently work in the law field as an office clerk. I'm open to doing different jobs but I have hearing aids so that somewhat limits my options(can't do communication on the phone well but I can talk with people in person pretty good). I also need to make a certain amount($12+) in order to be able to live.
I prefer the forests/lakes/rivers However, I would be ok with living on the coast if that was where I needed to live for my job. I definitely am not a desert girl however. I love rain and clouds more than sunshine so I'm not worried about that.
I'm 27, single and will be parentless soon and so I'm looking for a warm accepting community with potential to meet someone. I'm more mature for my age and so I'm fine with living somewhere that has slightly older populace than I am. I am more in the middle in terms of politics and keep the philosophy of "to each her/his own" esp. with religion. I'm most interested in the outdoors, reading, antiquing, etc. I'm fine living in a big city as long as I have easy access to those things. I do love smaller thriving towns though esp. with historical background.
I can't travel to visit right now as I'm tending to my terminally ill mother and also working full time.
I would love information on cities, places to live, etc. Frankly, any information would be welcome. Thank you!
