... probation. The problem is I am really struggling with my new manager.
She knows how good I am at my job, but she won't admit it.
Instead she constantly finds the silliest things to pick me up on, like coming in after 9 even though we are flexi time. Or not putting a capital letter in a very informal email. I'm a supervisor of another employee and my manager berates me in front of this employee, which I feel is losing me any sort of respect in the office.
She passes of my work as her own all the time, and is getting constant praise because of it, as well as receiving a bonus! But instead of thanking me, or telling me how well I'm doing she piles more and more work on me, then waits for me to make the slightest slip up, and be rates me for it!
I left my previous job to get closer to home, I'm always willing to stay behind , take work home, do extra etc. but this constant belittling in the office is knocking my confidence. Do I leave? How will it look if I leave within 6 months of starting a new position?
I must mention that I have tried to talk to her about her negativity in the office and she just says she doesn't feel the need to give praise. I'm definitely not asking for praise, I just want a little respect.
I work in industry, and am an assistant accountant
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Xx
