I was diagnosed with HIV when I was 17 with a CD4 count of 164. I wasn't attending doctors appointments or taking my medication. It's been three months, I'm 18 now, and just went to my doctor to get my blood drawn two weeks ago. My CD4 count came back today as 130 and my viral load came back as 790,000.
I don't feel sick I feel completely normal, The only thing that's really happening is that I'm losing weight. I know now that I have aids, it's scaring me though. I don't know how long I have to live, or who I can be around to not get ill. Are my numbers bad? How long do I have to live?
Somebody help!

CD4 asseses the level of your immunity. Low cd4 means your immunity is low but the level of cd4 count varies with individuals. A cd4 of 300 might be normal for you. Yet for another it is droping. That is why viral load is the gold standard for monitoring the infection. It determines how much virus you have in your blood. High value for viral load indicates that your are either not taking your drugs or the drug is not working well for you and it calls for change of the drug you are using . that is why it is important to keep your appointment days with the doctor so that the disease progress is monitored and action be taken where things are not going right. Believe me with proper monitoring and taking your drugs rightly, you will live a normal life and you will die natural death as other people. You can't tell how long some one will live on earth. Follow the procedures and you will see things getting back to normal. I hope this short answer will be helpful to you. Thanks.
