... supposed to create our own experiment on plants and make graphs and etc. I bought marigold, pumpkin, and zinnia seeds for this project. Here are my ideas:
-Difference of pH in soil: I take 3 pots and 3 seeds. In one pot I will add Garden lime which will increase the pH (make it more basic) and in another pot I will add a soil acidifier (contains sulfur) to decrease the pH (makes it more acidic). And for the last pot I will just use regular potting soil and see what pH my seeds will grow the most fast in.
My second idea:
-Buy bone meal and blood meal (fertilizers) and add it into my soil to see which plant will grow the fastest. Bone meal contains phosphorous and calcium which can help plant growth. While blood meal contains nitrogen which would also promote plant growth.
My question for each of these experiments would be:
In which pot/type of soil (Acidic/BAsic)/fertilizer(bone meal/blood meal) will help my plant's growth the most?
