Me and my friends became really close in high school and after high school I went to a different school than most of them (a lot of them go to the same school). Our two colleges are close enough that we can easily visit each other on a whim and for the first year of college, we did see each other on a near weekly basis. However, next year I won't be able to do that anymore due to a lot of stuff related to my college (including the lack of summer breaks starting from the 2nd year). I feel like I'm going to start losing my friends and I really don't want to lose these friendships. My friendships are one of the most valuable things I have in my life.

It's been bugging me for awhile that next year I might not be able to see them for awhile. I'm already starting to feel out of the loop and disconnected from my friends. I have made new friends in college, but my high school friends are particularly special for me. Not to mention that I won't be able to see my new friends for awhile either next year because of certain things coming up in college.

What should I do? I feel like the occasional facebook chat and text message isn't going to cut it. Or perhaps I'm wrong about that? Or should I consider severing all ties and becoming a lone wolf so that I don't get bothered by emotional ties again in the future? I really don't know what to do anymore. I need some advice about how to handle this. Thanks!
