I am 38 and my girlfriend is 18. Because she's smallish and likes to wear her hair in braids or pigtails sometimes, she could easily pass for 14 or 15. When we hold hands or kiss in public, people sometimes look at us with disgust. How do we deal with the rude behavior of people who comment on something that isn't any of their business? We're both adults, and don't like being made to feel like we are doing something wrong when we aren't.
I'm 38 and my girlfriend is 18. She looks much younger. What do we do when people look at us funny?

shes 18 so she should bring her ID with her even tho 18 is still pretty young to be dating a 38 year old man. despite her legally being an adult via the system her brain will not fully develop until shes atleast 25. if you guys are truly in 'love' and since she is legal. that doesnt mean the relationship is an appropriate one. but since Im not on here to judge and only on here to give answers., Ignore the stares. theres always going to be someone that disapproves have her keep her ID with her at all times so if an adult walks up to you threatening you just tell her to show her ID proving she is legal. they still might not agree with it but legally since she is 18 they cannot do anything about it.
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the sentiment, and your suggestion does make sense. But I don't like the idea of my girlfriend feeling the need to show her ID to some random person who thinks what we are doing is some of their business.
