I'm 17 and will be 18 in a month exactly If I runaway will the police even take time to look for me?

yes they will

Police do not waste time "looking" for anybody. When you are stopped for any reason, they check for warrants. If there are no warrants they let you go. They are in no hurry to ship you back someplace unless somebody back there will pay for the trip. If you are almost old enough, usually nobody wants to pay. Just don't get caught doing anything illegal.
