Find help to plan the most efficient exercise program you can perform, without fail. There are so many weight loss diets, I could never name. And they're all right here on the internet unless you know a dietician. Planning!! How much how soon, and set intermediate and final goals with a sensible plan for the future. It's good to keep what you work for.
Eat more, but smaller meals throughout the day while trying to decrease total ammount of calories consumed. Increase the ammount of exercise you do (had a friend lose 20lbs doing cross country). Drink more water (reduces food cravings, helps flush the system).
If you're a soda drinker, switch to diet. Try chewing gum, or keeping a snack of carrots or other vegies.
Do not fast, this just shuts down your metabolism. Do not try to eat tiny ammounts, you will just binge later on. Ignore fad diets as they tend to be short term diets that leave you lacking in something important.
Try talking to the gym teacher(s) and school nurse. They might not have the anwsers either, but they should at least point you in the right direction.
To be honest, you should try boosting your calories to around 1500/day and try to exercise 4-5 times a week for a half hour. At 1200 calories you might not be taking in enough calories to keep your metabolism at full. In general, start off walking at a comfortable pace and increase as you feel you can. If you do not run often, it will hurt when you start. A little ache is fine, sharp pains mean stop. If you develop shin splints (not uncommon for anybody doing alot of ground pounding) stop running and rest for a bit.
To help prevent injury, buy a good pair of running shoes or cross trainers. Most shoe places, especially athletic stores, will have a machine and/or have trained their people on what shoes best fit your foot. You can get a decent pair for around Most people only have 1 or 2 brands that they really fit well in due to different ways they size and make the shoes. Music can also help you keep rythem in addition to passing time.
The best way to get your exercise is to join a sports program. I love soccer and by the end of an hour or so, I had a hard time remembering that I was running. Raquet ball, swimming, biking and hiking are all great at distracting you from the fact is for exercise. If you have a hard time getting motivated, get a workout buddy. You help push each other a bit further when you think you're done, and eventually you're racing each other when before you were just barely making it.
I am by no means a workout specialist or anything, just have alot of running miles under my belt.
Oh, forgot to mention. Losing weight is simple math. Find your base intake to maintain weight at sedentary lifestyle. From there you need to lose 3500 calories to burn a pound, and you should aim for no more than 1-2 pounds a week. So that means no more than 1000 calorie deficit a day.
Im ccurrently eating around 1200 calories a day, do u think if I workout at least 30 minutes per day for at least 3 times a,week it will help? Thanks ;)
