If the whole room (celling, floor and all walls) are emitting light then they create a shadow but a shadow can't be made on light... My friend asked me and now I'm starting to wonder too, Google doesn't have the answer

A shadow is created by the occlusion of light by an object. If the object is surrounded by light there will not be a shadow. Well, that's not strictly true from a sciency point of view. Each light source will create a shadow but it won't be visible to the eye as the other light sources will "fill it in" if you will and if the light sources are not perfectly adjusted to create total coverage then at least one area will be less well lit than the other areas thus creating a "shadow".
thank you
