some would probably say that it is the amount of flips the coin makes or the height of the flip and also where it is caught.
A machine would probably be a more stable test bed. Also, would the coins all be on heads when flipped or on tails.
there are many parameters. But with you getting tails 487 times out of 1000. I would suffice to say that is probably about right.
