Assuming that my daughter inherited the X chromosome that my mom gave me and not the x chromosome that my dad gave me (I'm female), doesn't that mean that none of my dads traits can be passed down to my daughter's daughter?

It is not about the chromosomes, your DNA is half your fathers and half your mothers. Some genes are dominant and some recessive.
For instance your mother and father could both have blue eyes but you might have brown eyes, because your parents both carried the recessive gene for brown eyes from their parents.
Your daughter has 25% of your father DNA, whether it is recessive or dominant is pure chance.
If by traits you mean behaviours then they are not passed down, if you mean physical traits then yes they can be passed down many generations.
