I remember I was in a line at school, and somebody took my paperwork
and changed my name into their name, then I said "excuse me" then they said "what" and I said "that's my paperwork" and they said "life isn't fair"
but I thought of it, but if life is fair for them, and it's not fair for me, then is that fair? Or not?
If life is unfair for me, but life is fair for them. How is that fair?

The whole 'Life isn't fair' narrative is only used by people who want to profit off of your misfortune, or by parents who don't want to listen to you complain.
Technically life isn't fair, but it also isn't unfair. The act of breathing and moving isn't inherently unfair. You could make arguments like being a colored person in America makes life unfair, or being a woman makes life unfair. But even then it doesn't. The only unfair part is being born in a society with racists and misogynists. Life can never be fair or unfair by itself.
But for your situation, you were encountered by a bully. Since unfair things happen to us, but those things aren't life. What are they? Well, we can narrow it down to a few things. You being put into the situation was unfair, you being the smarter one was unfair, the fact that the bully approached you was unfair. There are almost endless possibilities on how your altercation with the bully was unfair.
But in this situation, the only thing that could've stopped the bully was you. If you made no effort to stop the bully the only thing that made the entire situation unfair was you.
Why do we believe life is unfair to me, but life is fair to him? It is because of our ignorance. Do you believe that apples cannot grow on mango trees? Or do you believe that they can? If you believe that apples can only grow on apple trees and mangoes can only grow on mango trees, then you understand what is known as the universal law of Action and Reaction, the Law of Boomerang. This law states that the fruit on the tree depends on the seed that we plant, it also states that our destiny on life depends on the deeds that we plant. Therefore if something is happening that seems to be unfair is because of our past deeds - a past which we do not remember, may be the past of previous life when we are in another body. But when we go in quest and realize the Truth, we will never blame life for being unfair, we will understand life and accept life when we realize the Truth.
