If energy cant be created or destroyed, why are we concerned about running out of energy?

I think it’s simply because we can’t exploit energy as effectively as needed. Of course, pollution also determines our ways of doing things, which means we have to use energy with care and develop new tricks in order to save lives. This takes time and makes it hard to conform to the situation since population growth is so fast and everybody wants to have a high standard of living. It’s a difficult equation to solve without a significant breakthrough in the processing of energy. The current path means running out.
Energy is not a physical unit. It is a philosophical concept and an accounting technique used to analyze mechanical and chemical exchanges. In nuclear physics it is defined as a wavelength of light, in biology it is a synonym for metabolism, and in public utilities they say energy when they mean connectivity.
