This man lied to get me pregnant and told me he was sterile, now I am 7 months and he's arguing about child support and says he will not pay me. Unfair because I have two kids already to care for. He has just applied for SSI not getting it yet.
I do not think he should see the kid if he's not helping contribute to raising him.
true you can put a stop to that if you really want to i law can make someone pay child support but they can't make you let him see the child just tell him this you said you wouldn't pay so no visitation is granted well you can move to have this as a stipulation sometimes even ssi won't pay for child support they only get about 721 a month
if you go via the legal system, there are 2 separate issues: first you can ask for child support and the court will force him to pay otherwise he will be put to jail. if you are sure HE is the father you will have to prove that he is the father, there are legal procedures for this as well, should he deny it. second, you do not have any right to prevent him seeing the kid UNLESS you can prove that this would be detrimental to the kid (he beats him, he talks bad to him, he shows immoral bevahiour etc.) at his turn he can go into the court and ask for a written order to allow him to see the kid. but, legally these two things are not connected, you can not blackmail saying 'show me the money or you will never see the kid'. he can simply sue you. or worse, you can be accused of blackmailing. we live in the 21st century, if he gets a good lawyer you could be in trouble should you choose this route
