If 7x=84 wouldn't the x be 12?

I know this question has been answered already, but I'd like to point out a method on how to solve for x ( pretty sure you learn this in grade 8 or 7)
7x = 84
7/7x = 84/7
x = 12
Pretty much what I did was removing the 7 from the equation by doing the opposite operation the 7 is involved in (the opposite of multiplication is division). Since there is a equal sign, you have to do the same operation to the other side. You will end up with a answer of 12 after that. For longer equations, just use the order of operations as a guide. Sorry if my explanation isn't thorough enough, i'm not a teacher.
