I was diagnosed and treated for group b streptococcus. I was given the antibiotic hybrid amox-clav, which is also called Augmentin. I did some research on my diagnosis and found that Augmentin isn't typically used for this diagnosis. Should I have been put on a different medication for this problem? And if so, which antibiotic should I suggest to my obgyn for this condition?
I was treated for group b strep with Augmentin. Was this the proper medication for my diagnosis?

"Augmentin is one of the workhorses of the pediatrician's office, prescribed for ear infections that are resistant to amoxicillin alone, sore throats and certain eye infections. The drug is also a powerful agent against bronchitis and tonsillitis caused by bacteria (though many cases of sore throat are viral in origin).Nov 28, 2017"
