... Asacol enema 4 g before bed time. Is it a high dose? I start having some joint pain mainly on the tips of fingers and toes.Should I see rhumatologue for that? I am not allowed to take other anti inflammatory medicine without the doctor advice

Hi there I have ulcerative colitis too. 4g enema is a very high dose, I take the 1g dose I have never been offered any higher. Pain in your joints is common with UC, it is just a sign of inflammation in the body and shouldnt be anything to worry about. I would speak to my gastro doctor about that. Have you considered eating antiinflammatory foods, there is a lot of information online and the website ihaveuc.com has helped me loads. Good luck.
