I wants to recover data from damage hard drive?

1st of all media of hard drive starts making (tic tic tic) noice then it smell after that bios didnt detact the drive.i was using this as external hard drive. so now bios not shows but in 'MY COMPUTER' is shows as drive f:, but no data, so plz help me that how i can get my data back
