Do you consider yourself a teacher or a cop? Most of the teachers I have studied with were lousy teachers, worrying about "giving away" what they were paid to give away, and seeing criminal activity just because two students were discussing their homework. Your job as a teacher is to encourage the students to learn, not to inflict punishment to see if they can withstand it.
Sorry if I seem impolite. It's because I still hurt from my experiences with many teachers who misused their authority.
