You need to check the effectiveness of various methods of birth control. For instance, condoms are about 98% effective. That means one time in every fifty, you might as well not be wearing one. Other types of contraception aren't 100% effective either. However, if you do combine two forms of contraception that fail 1 time in 50, then working together they will only "both" fail 1 time in 2500.
