My friend was pulled out of school just before Christmas in 2016 and no one has seen him since and my friends and I haven't been able to contact him since early January while my friend (he lives in the same neighborhood and they hung out frequently) and his parents suspect that his dad may be hurting him as they have cut off comunication while he was also trying to avoid talking about why he got pulled out and has only said that he hung out with the wrong types of people and doesn't want to talk about it. What should i do?

It is possible that your friend has just gotten in trouble (with the law or with his family) about hanging out with the "wrong" people. There could be substance abuse involved and that's why he was pulled out of school. If you genuinely think your friend might be in danger, try to get him alone (or send him a text) and have a heart-to-heart conversation. Make sure that he understands that you care and only want to help. If he's reluctant to open up, assure him that you won't tell anyone anything unless he wants you to. Ultimately, let him know that you are there for him no matter what and you want him to be safe and happy. (Everyone deserves to be safe and happy.)

Additionally, be sure to reach out to your other friend whose family lives in the neighborhood. It's always good to have support when you're offering it to someone else. That way, no one will be too overwhelmed. Good luck!
