I think hive been hypnotised as a child to forget an event. How do I manage to know if its true?

Scientist show that people can be hypnotised and in the process there will be changes in your brain for example your discion making your problem solving your emotion e.t.c but I don't think you will get amnesia for a long time after that. I wish this helped you
