...  waited a couple hours and came back. all the ants were dead including the ones in the bad that were eating the dog food. can my dog still eat the food?

i dont think so i think the dog food absorbed all the bayer the might get sick or worse die

Do not feed this to your dogs. Throw it out and buy a new bag. Chemicals can kill your dog.
